About Time For A Makeover

So a while back I painted the interior and exterior of the BK famous clothing boutique known as "About Time". Well due to the nature of seasons and change it has come time for a makeover. B.E.T. came to film Lil Mama at the shop so I had to hook the place up the day before. For those that do not know About Time is located on 736 Franklin Ave. btw. Sterling and Park. They sell a wide array of sneakers, jeans, and tees by mostly independent designers. Heres a flick and pic of the stores new look.

THE LEVEE-MURAL

For those of you lurking and inhabiting the hipster friendly, cocaine sheik side of B.K. (Willy B). There is a dope ass bar with pool tables, big buck hunter, juke boxes, and free twizzlers and lollypops! It's called The Levee, located at 212 Berry St. and n3. I was blessed to be able to paint the indoor outside or patio area. My homie matt painted the bricks on the opposite side. and Leif also painted the outside...sorry dont have pics of the other artists' work, but you should go pay the bar a visit and see for yourself.

Teaching Art

WOW!! Kids are amazing!! There is something about their personalities and innocence that teach me more than I could imagine, and they always make me laugh. I got the opportunity to do a workshop with some kids at a day camp and I had a lot of fun. I think when I'm older and wiser I could do this as a part time gig!! I have a big respect for kids and teachers. Childrn are most definitely the leaders of tomorrow and there is no doubt in my mind that this special group will make some strong minded individuals, especially with the wonderful guidance their teachers are giving them.

Listen to Your Heart

First and foremost I got inspiration for this design from a t-shirt my homie made a while back. He has a design company and the website is - www.iwilldesign.net - you can also shoot him an email at willieherrera@gmail.com, just write that you want to get your hands on a shirt.

This design is on a good friend of mine and also a very talented MC. Randy Mason has got mad talent and just dropped this album...follow this link for a free download...definetely worth it!!!

Vincenzian Ink Slinging 101

In the heart of Vincenza Italy I roamed to Tattoo. It was a fun trip- I was gettin open with the color pallet which I believe is a big challenge. Here are some photos of pieces I worked on-

ZOMBIE PRAYING HANDS!!- Im really impressed with traditional designs. The history, line work, and graphic quality of these images are beyond immaculate. I use to hate on them back in the day, which shows how far up my ass my heads been hiding. The original praying hands was drawn by Albrecht Durer, a German artist born in 1471. The actual name of the brush drawing is "Hands of an Apostle" and it was painted in 1508. There you go.. a quick Art History fact for your savvy minds..ha. Here I added a bit of a twist which was what my client asked for. Its pretty self explanatory - The zombie seeks redemption.

THE LION OF AZTLAN- Im starting to dig Victorian borders. Lions are pretty sick too, very fierce, strong, majestic. You get the point.
